We have extensive experience working in various communities across Nepal, coordinating summer programs with volunteers and participants from Europe and the US. NEPAL STUDENT TRAVEL has successfully implemented projects that have had a positive and sustainable impact on local communities. Our NGO is part of a grassroots development movement aimed at fostering positive developmental changes in rural and underserved areas. We bring a wealth of experience and expertise in working with local communities, having collaborated with European, US, and UK travelers on effective programs in education, health, tourism, social enterprise, and community development.
What Do We Offer?
- Training Before Traveling:
- We provide comprehensive training before traveling to Nepal. Understanding Nepal’s culture is crucial to appreciating another way of life. Our training includes insights from a Master in Development and Cooperation, offering a global perspective that helps reduce negative impacts upon arrival.
- We aim to help you remove your “occidental glasses” and begin seeing the world from a new perspective.
- Educational Programs:
- For Schools (3 weeks): We offer an international experience for students in their final year of school or high school. This program includes 3 weeks of living with local families in a village, working in schools, exploring the environment, and connecting with nature and the mountains. It promises to be an unforgettable experience.
- For Students: We offer a summer camp or VIS program, typically lasting 3 weeks but can extend up to 6 months based on requirements.
- For Universities: Similar to the Microproject program, with durations ranging from 2 weeks to 3 months.
- For Companies: We offer Social Responsibility Programs lasting between 10 days and 2 weeks.
- For Travelers: We provide an opportunity to visit Nepal in a unique way, by living like a local rather than a tourist. This responsible tourism approach involves staying with local families, eating local food, and supporting local economies. Part of the money spent on local tourism goes directly to our schools.
- Impact on Communities:
- Volunteers contribute significantly to local communities, particularly schools and children. Many of our schools are public, underdeveloped, and serve underprivileged children. The knowledge and skills that volunteers impart will enhance the learning habits of these children, making them more eager to learn and acquire new skills.
- International Experience and Personal Skill Development:
- Volunteering with NEPAL STUDENT TRAVEL offers a unique and transformative experience. Learning a new language, eating unfamiliar foods, working far from home, traveling to remote and beautiful places, collaborating with other volunteers, and making new friends will broaden your worldview and outlook. You will gain invaluable international experience that will help you grow personally and professionally.
